1. Introduction

FakerFill (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a browser extension designed for developers, testers, and QA professionals to automate form filling with fake test data. This Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, store, and share your data when you use our extension.

2. Data Collection

2.1 Data We DO NOT Collect

FakerFill is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do NOT collect:

• Personal Information: No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers
• Browsing History: We do not track which websites you visit
• Form Data: We do not collect or transmit any data you enter into forms
• Analytics or Telemetry: No usage statistics, crash reports, or behavioral data
• Device Information: No hardware identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
• Cookies: We do not set or read any cookies
• Financial Information: We do not collect payment details (Stripe handles all payments for Pro users)

2.2 Data We DO Collect and Store Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device only using Chrome's storage API:

• Form Templates: Save custom filling patterns (stored until you delete them)
• Extension Settings: Remember your preferences (stored until you delete them)
• UI Preferences: Panel position, size, theme (stored until you delete them)
• Language Preference: Display extension in your language (stored until you delete them)

Important: This data NEVER leaves your device in the Free plan. It is not transmitted to any server.

2.3 Data Collected for Pro Users (Optional)

If you purchase the Pro plan and choose to enable cloud sync:

• License Key: Stored encrypted on Supabase to verify Pro subscription (retained until subscription ends)
• Synced Templates: Stored encrypted on Supabase for cross-device sync (retained until you delete them)
• Email Address: Stored encrypted on Supabase for license management (retained until subscription ends)

3. How We Use Data

3.1 Free Plan

• Form Templates: Used locally to auto-fill forms with your saved patterns
• Extension Settings: Used to customize your experience (language, theme, etc.)
• UI Preferences: Used to remember panel position and size between sessions

We do NOT use your data for: advertising or marketing, profiling or behavioral analysis, selling to third parties, or any purpose other than providing extension functionality.

3.2 Pro Plan

In addition to the above:

• License Key: Used to verify your Pro subscription status
• Email Address: Used to manage your license and send transactional emails (receipts, renewal notices)
• Synced Templates: Used to sync your templates across devices (opt-in feature)

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 Third Parties We Share Data With

Free Plan: We do NOT share any data with third parties.

Pro Plan: We share limited data with the following service providers:

• Stripe: Email and payment info for payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
• Supabase: License key, email, synced templates for cloud storage (supabase.com/privacy)

4.2 Data We NEVER Share

• Form data you enter on websites
• Your browsing history
• Personal information (beyond email for Pro users)
• Data with advertisers or data brokers

4.3 Legal Disclosure

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or governmental authority. We will notify you if legally permitted.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Local Storage Security

• Data stored in Chrome's local storage is encrypted by Chrome
• Data is accessible only to the FakerFill extension
• Data is not accessible to other extensions or websites

5.2 Cloud Storage Security (Pro Plan)

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
• Hosted on Supabase's secure infrastructure
• Regular security audits and compliance certifications
• We do not store credit card information (Stripe handles payments)

5.3 Data Retention

• Local templates and settings: Until you delete them or uninstall extension
• Pro license data: Until subscription ends + 30 days
• Payment records: 7 years (legal requirement)

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access Your Data

• Local data: View in Chrome DevTools > Application > Local Storage
• Pro data: Contact support@fakerfill.com for a data export

6.2 Delete Your Data

• Local data: Uninstall extension or clear extension data in Chrome settings
• Pro data: Contact support@fakerfill.com for account deletion

6.3 Data Portability

• Export templates via Options page
• Request full data export by contacting support@fakerfill.com

6.4 Opt-Out

• Cloud sync is opt-in (Pro users can disable it)
• No tracking to opt out of (we don't track)

7. Browser Permissions Explained

FakerFill requires these permissions to function:

• activeTab: Detect and fill forms on current page (form elements only)
• storage: Save templates and settings locally (extension data only)
• tabs: Communicate between extension parts (tab IDs only)
• alarms: Check Pro license periodically (no user data accessed)
• <all_urls>: Work on any website with forms (form elements only)

What we do NOT access: Passwords or sensitive form fields, page content beyond form elements, browsing history, other tabs you have open.

8. Children's Privacy

FakerFill is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

For Pro users, data may be transferred to and processed in the United States (where Supabase servers are located). By using Pro features, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards through Supabase's data protection agreements.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date at the top, notify Pro users via email for material changes, and post changes on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
